Jacobo Díaz Robledillo



Viola



Spanish violist, improviser and performer Jacobo Díaz Robledillo (Ávila 1993), is the viola and co-founder of Fabrik Quartet.


Deeply engaged with contemporary music, he has collaborated closely with composers such as Helmut Lachenmann, Rebecca Saunders, Enno Poppe, Kaija Saariaho, Diego Jimenez Tamame.


He regularly performs with leading orchestras and ensembles, including Ensemble Modern, Württembergisches Kammerorchester Heilbronn, Stuttgarter Kammerorchester, Schallfeld Ensemble, Grafenegg Academy Orchestra, Detmolder Kammerorchester, Davos Festival Camerata, Ensemble Risonanze Erranti, playing under the batons of such conductors as Stefan Asbury, Lucas Vis, Chloe Dufresne, Johannes Kalitzke, Ingo Metzmacher, Holly Hyun Choe, Lautaro Mura, Ustina Dubitsky.


Jacobo has performed both as a soloist and ensemble musician at major international festivals, including Festival Manifeste, Strichquartettfest Hel¡idelberg Frühling, Wittener Tage für Neue Kammermusik, Darmstädter Ferienkurse, ENSEMS Festival, Gaudeamus Muziekweek, Lucerne Festival, Time of Music Festival, Klangspuren Schwaz Tiroler Festival für Neue Musik, Davos Festival Young Artists in Concert, Ostrava Days Festival.


He completed his Bachelor’s degree at the Conservatori Superior de Música del Liceu with Prof. Ashan Pillai, and later pursued the Master Solist program at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold with Prof. Veit Hertenstein. His artistic development has been further shaped through solo and chamber music masterclasses with Nobuko Imai, Garth Knox, Geneviève Strosser, Irvine Arditti, Donald McInnes, Peijun Xu, Casals Quartet and Auryn Quartet. Jacobo was an IEMA 2021/2022 scholarship Holder.
